KETOCONAZOLE-CREAM treats poison ivy?

I had ringworm, now I have poison ivy and I'm wondering if I can use my extra KETOCONAZOLE-CREAM. I know that I 'can' but will it treat the poison ivy?KETOCONAZOLE-CREAM treats poison ivy?
Ketoconazole is an anti-fungal drug so it won't be able to treat your poison ivy. Remember poison ivy is a type of hypersensitivity reaction, type IV to be exact - contact dermatitis so the best approach is for you to use an anti-inflammatory cream to stop your immune system from over reacting to the oils from the poison ivy. OTC meds include benadryl cream, hydrocortisone 1-2% cream, and calamine lotion. Talk with your doctor/pharmacist for more info
