My Puppy has a Rash on his belly. What kind of cream is safe to use on it?

My Vet said to put some Neosporin or Triple Anti Biotics on it. I'm just afraid that he will lick at it and get sick. Is it safe to use what the Vet said? or would something else be better? My Puppy has a Rash on his belly. What kind of cream is safe to use on it?
It sounds like it may be a staph infection. Use what the vet recommended. Watch your pup for a few minutes to make sure it doesn't lick it right after being applied. Its ok if the pup licks it later-but try to discourage the wound licking all together.

An alternative treatment would be to apply Fungisan. I've never had a dog interested in licking Fungisan...and it's a spray so it's eay to apply. My Puppy has a Rash on his belly. What kind of cream is safe to use on it?
Our dog (larger breed) got into something that caused a rash on his underneath %26amp; we called the vet on a sat b/c it was very red and itchy. She told us to use corizone/anti-itch cream but to make sure that the dog doesn't lick the area or the cream. Also she suggested we give him a benadryl to get rid of the itching.
I use triple anitbiotic ointment from the dollar store for my first aid kit for the dogs and it works great. If your worried about him licking it go to your local pet store and buy a medical collar to put on him until the rash goes away. Always listen to your vet! If you can't trust your vet who can you trust?
my pup had the same problem. our vet said to take a wet cloth and wash it daily and to just keep an eye on it. she said we could put the antibiotic cream on it if we wanted, but that it was just a common puppy rash and that it would go away on its own. but if you do put the cream on, more than likely he'll lick it off so its pointless. lol but it won't hurt him. :)

good luck!
Maybe your dog is allergic to something outside? Did you get any new plants in your front/back yard recently? Have you been feeding him new food? Using new dog soap or flea treatment? Have you had your carpets/floors professionally cleaned recently? Have you switched laundry soap? It could be any number of things... Just think through what you've done differently in your house/yard, and it could be one of those! Dogs have allergies just like we do

Our old dog suffered similar problems and after speaking to a rep from one of the food manufacturers he suggested trying a food with a slightly lower protein content. The problem cleared overnight and saved 拢60 per month on cortisone. Might be worth a try. Our dog food was 19% protien and is now 16% - still the same ingredients though Chicken%26amp;Rice)!

Good Luck!
Clean the spot, use the Neosporin and see how it goes. I would find out what the rash is from and treat accordingly, but some people like to treat the symptoms, rather than get rid of the problem.
any triple is safe for him. we use generic store brand and have no problems. Also try Bag Balm available at most pharmacy's and farm stores.
stick with the vets advice

These antibiotocs aren't toxic if taken orally on small amounts
