What is the best diaper rash cream to use moms?

i just posted about my nine month old and his sudden increase in dirty diapers. he also goes quietly and with out effort and it doesn't give off any odor right away so its hard for me to even know he's gone. but all along the inside of his buttcrack is beet red and almost bleeding. he has some pink rough patches on his butt cheeks. truthfully my son has only ever had diaper rash once before and i used neosporin plus pain relief. but were fresh out now so i have to use something else. i got everything for my babyshower from a%26amp;d creamy and clear, desitin creamy, nursery jelly, and boruduexs butt paste. we are kind of strapped for cash right now so what is your fave diaper cream to use and why? What is the best diaper rash cream to use moms?
I know the kind the second person mentioned, the butt paste,OMG it works great! It worked wonders on my daughter, she had diaper rash so much off and on it was unreal, and it always calmed down the roughness of it,and stopped the irritation she would obviously feel from it. But,give the rash time to air out,as the diaper will help to do nothing but irritate it usually. Also, add some corn starch baby powder on it,and that helps as well. What is the best diaper rash cream to use moms?
I ALWAYS use Burts Bees Diaper Ointment. It is great. If Noah ever gets a little red it takes it away by the next changing. We first used it when he had a pretty bad rash (about like the one your son has) and that, and baby powder, cleared it up in about 3 days. I always use a little of it after poopy diapers. :0)

We use the desitin creamy when we are out of Burts and it is pretty good too, but I HATE that bordeaux butt paste. it stinks, is slimy and never helped his redness at all.

Good luck!
Nystatin is a realy good cream you have to get a persription it work pretty fast also I perfer using corn starch it work great and its cheap they actually put corn starch in baby powder but add a bunch off perfumes and stuff to it so it usualy dont work but plain corn starch works great good luck
I think the best is Bepanthen. My son had really bad rash last week and after 3 applications it was completely healed.

All the others I have tried are really thick and go on like zinc but Bepanthen spreads really well.

It is not very expensive, $6 for a small tube
Triple paste. My sis in law used it on my nephew - he used to get diaper rash so bad he would actually have yeast infections on his butt . . . seriously! and that stuff would clear it up within a day or 2.
We use Burts Baby Bee. We use it because a lot of other baby products that aren't natural contain Formaldehyde. It can get a little expensive but it is well worth it. It smells great also.
i used AVEENO but budreauxs is good too. however, the best thing is to let him be naked as much as you can to let it air out well. let him play on a mat or blanket that you don't mind getting pee or something on
I have found that Aveeno Baby soothing relief diaper rash cream to be a very good product. I'm a fan of all the the Aveeno baby products.
Use vaseline its supposed to coat the skin well. I use it at every diaper change (When I happen to remember) and so far my daughter hasnt had a diaper rash.

Beaudrix(SP?) Butt Paste! Hands down the best for severe diaper rash!
butt paste, or regular old corn starch which is about .50 at the grocery store.
Desistin. Works great. It helps to heal and I use it as a preventive measure too ! What else can I say ?
We found that A%26amp;D works wonders!
I mostly just use cornstarch. I find if I use it at every diaper change it prevents a rash. My daughters only had a few minor diaper rashes and the only diaper creams I would put on it are vaseline or the vitamin a%26amp;e lotion because all the others ones I looked at had zinc oxide in it which really stings. When you do put cream on it make sure the area is dry first by putting a bit of cornstarch on first or letting it air dry, otherwise the cream will lock the moisture in and can make the rash worse.
I like any of the Zinc Oxide Creams, such as Desitin. Ten percent or more of Zinc Oxide, and not with a million other ingredients, botanicals, or fragrances. One application is usually enough to see some relief.

If the rash doesn't get better after a day or two of treatment, call the doctor to find out if it is a yeast rash and how they want you to treat it. Yeast won't go away without an antifungal, and your description of the redness and patches sounds like that's what it might be.

Hope your little guy feels better soon!
It depends on whether the skin is broken or not. If it is not broken, I think the best on the market is butt paste. If it IS broken though wash his bottom in lukewarm water mixed with baking soda. Then cover it in Vasoline. Do NOT use any of the over the counter diaper creams if the skin is broken. It will burn.

If your baby has had a sudden change in his diapers though, I would talk to your doctor about it. I don't know how many people told me that my sons had diaper rash when I told them about their sore bottoms. It turned out that they actually had food allergies that were causing their problems.

Isn't it a good idea for an elderly to use a & d cream when using diapers to prevent a rash? nessesarry?

I believe it is, but someone i know does not unless they have one already.Isn't it a good idea for an elderly to use a %26amp; d cream when using diapers to prevent a rash? nessesarry?
When I worked in an assisted living facility we always used some sort of ';barrier'; cream and powder. The cream was to protect the skin from the irritating effects of the feces and urine, and the powder was to absorb excess moisture. Both go a long ways towards preventing rashes and infections.

Elderly people don't heal well, so prevention is the best cure.Isn't it a good idea for an elderly to use a %26amp; d cream when using diapers to prevent a rash? nessesarry?
You do not need to use A%26amp;D unless you need to protect the skin. If the patient is washed and dried well after each incontinence there should be no problem with rashes or skin breakdown.
prevention is always good

only use when the skin is clean, just after washing or you will be trapping in the batteria.

A thin layer or ointment or vasoline is a great barrier to protect the skin. because eventually there are possibably skin breakdowns when it comes to incontience
Not sure what you mean by ';a %26amp; d cream';. Anyway diaper rash is not just something that babies get. Anyone that has issues with incontinence and is allowed to remain in a wet/soiled disposable undergarment is prone to getting a rash.

Baby powder or Diper rash cream?

I was changing my God daughter last night (my official God mother duty when Im around) shes 8 days old, and she had a really bad diper rash. We have been putting cream on it constantly and changing her diper often it only seems to worsen. Another one of the mothers there last night said not to put the rash cream on when it gets bad, and to use baby powder to absorb the moisture thats causing the irritation. I did what she told me because it sounded logical, but I wanted to see what people had to say.

new mothers, is she right about the baby powder or should we continue to apply the cream?Baby powder or Diper rash cream?
Don't use baby powder it will cut into skin , buy baby powder that has corn starch in it. buy some butt paste ,very good . Also when my daughter gets a bad diaper rash i soak her in corn starch and oatmeal bath. She probably has a lot of yeast built up , might wont to call her doctor .Baby powder or Diper rash cream?
Stop using the nappy rash cream as the zinc can also make baby irritated and using the nappy rash powder isn't such a good idea on such a young baby as it can cause her pores to clog instead of breathing.

I use Lucas' Papaw Ointment, it comes in either tube form or a jar and is a tad smelly but it works wonders!

My 10 week old had awful nappy rash in the first couple of weeks and using the pawpaw ointment cleared it straightway. I've also used the same stuff on my two older children.

You can buy it from all good chemists.
The best thing is to let the baby go ' au natural' for as long as possible. Several times a day diaperless to let the air in. Our pediatrician told us that the only thing that works is air, and vaseline, as it acts as a barrier. Always dry the area well before putting on the vaseline, or any other cream. Vaseline has worked the best for us.
powder is def bad for baby's lungs, maybe the cream is not suiting your baby sometimes zincoxide creams don't but you should still see a doctor

sometimes changing a diaper company also works,

it happened with my daughter the rash just wouldn't go away there was also swelling but I changed the diaper company and within a few days there was major dfference
Don't use the liquid baby powder or any cream that has zinc in it (usually white).

How about letting baby have a little naked time for some air to get to the rash. Then apply some a%26amp;d vitamin ointment.

If not better soon; the doc can prescribe an ointment that will clear it up in a day or 2.
sounds like it could be a yeast infection. you should use a baby wash cloth with warm water to wipe her (wipes will irritate it further) and call the peditrician for a prescription for nystatin (they might want to see her since she's so young.) a lot of moms say you can use over the counter anti fungals like monistat, but i personally wouldn't on a newborn. use plain vaseline or like A%26amp;D ointment until you can get her to the doctor. baby powder will make it worse. i know from experience!
Actually, with a severe diaper rash in an eight day old baby, she should be taken to the doctors. If it's a yeast or fungal infection, neither the cream or powder will help.
I heard that powder is bad for babies lungs. Not sure if that is true or not. I just use a diaper cream. Try switching brands if the rash doesn't go away.
I would continue to use the cream because they say not to use baby powder because babies can breathe the powder in and can cause breathing problems!
you can buy the liquid baby powder so the baby don't breath it in.
I've always used Butt Paste. I'd call the pediatrician though %26amp; see what they say.
My pediatrician always told me never to use powder with girls because the powder will get cakey when it gets wet and can give her a yeast infection so I NEVER used powder for that fear alone. I used Desitin, A%26amp;D, or Butt Paste and they all worked really well. When she first got a REALLY bad diaper rash, I took her to the pediatrician because nothing was working and I had the fear of powder. So they gave me some samples of stronger ointments which worked in a snap and they gave me so many that if it happened again, I had extras (which it only happened a couple more times and then stopped coming back finally).

So that's my suggestion from my own experience, take her to the pediatrician and see she can get some prescription strength stuff to help take it down a few notches. All pediatricians are different so her's might suggest the powder approach first...like I said, I went by what I was told and was too scared to risk a yeast infection LOL.

Rash irritated or discolored skin after using avon hair remover cream?

I have been using this cream for a year and a half. I just recently started using in twice a week. I got what i thought was my hair growing back darker. turns out its discolored skin/sensitive skin and kind of a rash. What can I do to treat it and has anyone had this happen to them too and what did you do?Rash irritated or discolored skin after using avon hair remover cream?
Any time you have a reaction to a product, discontinue use, clean the area, and apply a topical anti-itch cream like neosporine. If it continues to be dry, inflamed, itchy or rashy for more than a day or two, make an appointment to see a doctor who can prescribe a stronger cream.

Many women have reactions to hair removal products, especially if it's applied too thickly, for too long a time, or applied before or after touch-up shaving. If none of these apply, then you are probably too sensitive to use a hair removal cream.

This only happened to me the first time I ever used such a product. I used too much and left it on too long. Hope this helps.Rash irritated or discolored skin after using avon hair remover cream?
You can get an allergy to any thing when ever. Take a shower and wash the stuff off good. Then go to the store you can eather get a cream for the rash are take benadril for allergy's. Take the benadril to help with the itch and rash. Don't use that hair remover any more. If the rash burns put ice on it. It will take 4 days for it to go away.

What is diaper rash cream for?

i just noticed that my 2 weeks old baby's behind is all red n looks like it's gonna bleed soon. i have a huggies diaper rash cream but i don't know if that's what it's for! what can i do? n would baby powder help? What is diaper rash cream for?
the best stuff to get for that is bag balm

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article鈥?/a>

it really is amazing stuff. if it looks like its going to bleed, try changing the diaper more often and take your baby in to the doctor to make sure it isnt a %26lt;b%26gt;yeast infection%26lt;/b%26gt;

they are rare, especially in boys, but they do happen.

and its okay if you dont know what diaper rash is, looks like, or how to treat it. every new mom has to learn somewhere...

i hope your baby feels better soon :)What is diaper rash cream for?
no baby powder.

Diaper rash cream is for exactly that. put that on.

P.S. It cant bleed.
Diaper Rash Cream is what it is!

My son has had diaper rash maybe 3 times. He is 13 months. Yes it can bleed if it's bad enough. I use Aquaphor Healing Ointment. (from Eucerin)...it works wonders...it's alittle pricey but it's the best I have used and seen. Diaper rash comes from not changing Diapers often enough and or teething...just keep a good eye on it.
Use the Diaper rash cream for baby's behind, don't use powder it will make the rash worst [ it will burn more ].

You can also use A %26amp; D Ointment on baby. I prefered the A%26amp;D it has vitamins that will replace what the burn has taken out of baby's bottom.

I left diapers off for a while. {we never had pampers}
no powder, use the cream asap, bathe your babies bottom too this will help, try laying him on his mat without a nappy to get air around his bits this will help too. look for a cream called bepanthen its great, that will sort it in no time i promise!
Air dry keep the diaper off as much as you can.
yes that's what is for, just read!
Um, what else would it be for??? Yes, that is exactly what Ddiaper rash cream is for!! Do you have a fussy baby? His/her butt hurts and that cream will offer some relief. Apply it thick! The best is Boudreaux's Butt Cream (Wal-mart).
Baby Powder if inhaled can hurt the babys lungs because of the Talc in it, and for the Diaper Rash cream just rub on baby's butt and away he goes!! Good Luck
Desitin makes the best diaper rash medicine!!!

It could be the diaper itself that is causing problems, some kids are allergic. You might want to try a different brand,

The best thing to do is leave the diaper off as much as you can, let her get a little air on it, a little sunshine wouldn't hurt either, natural vitamins there!!
Yes, that would probably work. if it looks like it is going to bleed you should call the doctor and bring your baby in. I wouldn't risk anything with a 2 week old. Call the doctor.

Butt Paste is a good diaper rash cream too!!
use the cream i found drapolen was great and yes it can bleed it turns into an open sore and weep and it is really painful but remember too much cream can make it worse put the powder on top and if you run out of cream use vasaline it acts as a barrier and powder on top it stops it from feeling uncomfy and change their bum real regular and if you can leave the nappy off for a while each day just put a towel underneath
You can use the Huggies diaper rash cream.. You can also put some vaseline and then sprinkle some baby powder on top.

Try to keep the diaper off for a little while if you can, it helps if it exposed to air.

Also try using a warm washcloth after a diaper change, sometimes the wipes are too harsh when they are red and sore.

Hope that helps!
If the baby's bottom is red and rashy looking, then that it what the cream is for. If the rash looks like it is going to bleed and has open sores then I would call the doctor before putting anything on it. Soaking in warm water, using washcloths instead of baby wipes, leaving your baby's diaper off for a little bit will all help prevent diaper rash. And for what it is worth, I think Desitin makes the best diaper rash cream. In the future, try changing him or her a little more often, and if that doesn't help, switch diaper brands. My kids all had weird reactions to diffenent brands of diapers.
That is what diaper rash medicine is for... BUT, I'll tell you what I've found to work best. Plain ol' vaseline. Put a layer on and it will keep all moisture from getting onto baby's skin, therefore eliminating diaper rash. ALWAYS worked quick for my kids.
Umm, you are asking if diaper rash cream is for diaper rashes? Geez. It's gonna be a long 18 years!
You need something that will create a barrier between the baby and his waste. I agree with the A%26amp;D ointment. Diaper rash cream can be so hard to wash off. Keep your baby's bottom clean with soap and water and keep it dry as much as you can. Keep diapers off unless absolutely necessary until the rash is healed. After the rash is healed continue to clean the baby's bottom as mentioned above instead of using wipes and change diapers often. Wipes can be used when not at home. Baby powder should not be used at all.
If it's a bad rash sometimes using a%26amp;d diaper rash ointment is better, it doesn't have something in it like the other creams (I forget what) so it's less harsh on their bottoms. It can bleed if it gets bad enough..I wouldn't use powder if it's that bad. Try and let him air dry as much as possible as well.
girl you didny pay attention to anything in prenatel care you dummy. wake up smell the coffee
Yes, slather some of it all over baby's bottom with every diaper change, and make sure you change the diapers promptly.. It should clear up within a day.. The Diaper Rash Cream soothes, and clears up the redness..
thats what its for. slather it on real thick after each diaper change.
use diaper rash cream that is what it is there for

Diaper rash cream on heat rash?

ok so my daughter has like 3 chins(shes a chunky little baby. hehe) she is 4 months old by the way, but anyway when i was giving her a bath the other day i noticed she has heat rash on her neck under all that chubbiness. my sister says i should put desitin on it? has anyone ever done this and if so does it work???Diaper rash cream on heat rash?
I would probably use cornstarch (carefully) instead.Diaper rash cream on heat rash?
they dont work. Heat rash is diff to nappy rash. Heat rash = heat in body therefore its connected internally. nappy rash occured externally and friction of nappy on skin. make sure she has alot of water and juices in her diet. fruits and veggies and no constipation. introducing more water and fluids in diet will help get rid of heat rash. you might have to go docs for the prescribed cream for heat rash.
I'm guessing it's more similar to a diaper rash than a heat rash, yes? You can put diaper rash cream on it, but a mix of hydrocortison cream and eucerin cream may work better.
Use Angel Baby Bottom Balm. We use it on everyone in my house for rashes, scrapes, bug bites, everything. It is amazing. It will take care of her heat rash.
Don't use hydrocortise for long periods of time, only for 7 days max.

Could a diaper rash cream actually give me diaper rash?

I was golfing this summer and started to get chafed between the cheeks. Thought i was being smart and bought a diaper rash cream( zinc oxide ointment) and applied before my rounds. It seemed to work but about a week ago i got a terrible itch and checked it out. after numerous showers there was still white remnants from the cream and between my cheeks was really red and horribly irritated and itchy. I'm not about to start scratching my butt. and it's too irritated and painful to try and seriously scrub with a wash cloth. I've bought some baby powder and it's helped a little. HELP ME!!!Could a diaper rash cream actually give me diaper rash?
Sounds like yeast. You can try some over the counter cream. Monistat or canestan should help.Could a diaper rash cream actually give me diaper rash?
maybe you're allergic to the cream. maybe you could try an anti itch cream to sooth the area and just keep it as clean and dry as possible and maybe lay off the golfing till it heals up.

you can also get some butt paste. that's actually what it's called and people swear by it. i've seen it at like tractor supply stores but you could prolly try the pharmacy
Yeast. Like jock itch or athletes foot.

You can get some lotramin fungal creme and apply it. make sure to wash the area with a cloth that has only water on it. Use the creme and give it a week to get better. If it doesn't go to the doctors for a fungal creme with a steroid in it.
