My son has a bad nappy rash and we have run out of cream, is there anything i can put on it?
I need any ideas on how to help a bad nappy rash for tonight, is there anything else i can put on it untill the morning? My son has a bad nappy rash and we have run out of cream, is there anything i can put on it?
keep his nappy off until he goes to sleep for the night. Don麓t put talc if he already has a rash. You can use cod liver oil or a waxy barrier cream. it would be best to change his nappy during the night so that urine does not come into contact with his skin.My son has a bad nappy rash and we have run out of cream, is there anything i can put on it?
put some vaseline on it for the night to help protect it from moisture. In the morning, i would go and get more cream right away. The vaseline won't help heal it, it will just help keep the moisture away.
Vaseline would do for the night. Don't use powder, when it gets wet it will clog together and be very uncomfortable.
Maj
wash the area down with luke warm water and then pat it dry and then put baby power on it, this will keep it dry and should stop it getting sorer than it already is, if its really bad take him to the doctors who will give you a huge tub of special cream, my son got it when his nappy rash was bad.. hope this helps, otherwise good home remedies for nappy rash might come up with something.
Vaseline might work. Or lotion without added perfumes or colors.
If you're absolutely desperate, thick cream or boiled milk might do the trick.
Good Luck!
Powder
bathe im with warm water and cotton wool, pat dry and let him have his nappy off for a while, fresh air is best
corn starch from the kitchen
maybe some vaseline or baby lotion. calamine lotion would cool the burning sensation down. don't you have a friend or neighbor with a baby you could ask to borrow some to you.
whip up an egg white and smear on his bum once its dry you can put the nappy back on.
Hi,
Don't use powder as it may get into their lungs and dry bottom out too much leaving it sore still.
Use olive oil.
Take half a teaspoon of clean water and put 2-3 drops of olive oil in it. Gently massage your baby's bottom with this solution.
To help the rash get better make sure you ...
Take the nappy off for a while to allow air
Change the nappy more frequently
Don't rub skin too hard to get dry - be gentle
Make sure bottom is dry before applying clean nappy
Lx
beaten egg whites whisk up till merangue like apply that it helped my kids
i would use cotton wool and water on his bottom and keep his nappy off for as long as you can change the nappy every hour it might not be that wet but the littlest bit of urine will make him sore
sorry no idea, but wally world walgreens and places like that are open 24/7
If it's a really bad rash, I'd advise egg white (like someone else suggested). It will dry the rash up overnight. However, if your son has shown any sign of any allergies, or any allergies run in the family, don't do it just in case.

My staff dog has a rash like a cold sore round his mouth what cream should i put on?
Take him to the vet. Unless you know what you are doing, you could make things worse by trying to treat him yourself.
PaulMy staff dog has a rash like a cold sore round his mouth what cream should i put on?
Considering staffys - I would check to find what he has been chewing to cause the ';rash';.
It may be abrasions from something he has chewed at or it could be a reaction from something he chewed. My staff dog has a rash like a cold sore round his mouth what cream should i put on?
Ive a staff and there always coming up in rashes the vet said staffs suffer with acne and eczema
really you should take him to the vets, however i would use what humans use i always give my staff paracetamol if he hurts himslef but ths only if he doesnt need a vet. i even give my horses benylin when they have a cough. i think if it dont hurt us it wont hurt them.
I would not put any cream on it with out seeing your vet first as it could just make it worse
whatever the vet gave you will be fine.
When your dog is ill and you do not know exactly what is wrong, don`t ask `laymen`, take him to your vet. It could be an infection that needs antibiotics. Your dog could be in pain, he can`t tell you. Take him to the Vet. The P.D.S.A. will treat him free if you cannot afford to pay.myspace commentes

Are there diaper rash creams you can use with cloth diapers?
(Without staining or absorbency issues, etc.?)Are there diaper rash creams you can use with cloth diapers?
I used Sudocream for my little one's rashes, which she rarely got thanks to the cloth diapers. I didn't find that it made any difference to the cloth diapers. Are there diaper rash creams you can use with cloth diapers?
If you're using cloth diapers, I think you would be happy with organic diaper creams. They tend to be less oily and a little bit goes a long way. California Baby, Little Twig and Nature's Baby Organics make some great diaper creams. We use them on our baby boy and they clear up rashes fast.
If you have trouble finding these products, shop at BabyEarth.com - http://www.babyearth.com/california-baby鈥?/a>
Avoid anything with petroleum products. They will cause absorbency issues. I found when we were using cloth we did not really need to use anything. The cloth did not seem to cause any rash issues.
I use a liner to prevent the diaper rash creams from staining my diapers and resulting in less absorbency. For the cream, I use Butt paste, which works great!
We haven't had any diaper rash, but our DD has had a little bit of redness in her butt crack area before. We used Butt Butter that I got for free from BabysBottomLine.com
But they carry it too.
ummm thts a hard 1 try maybe talcum powder

Deos anyone know of a good cream for 'under-boob' rash.?

zinc oxide, found in diaper rash creams, works quite well, the irritation under the breasts comes from friction and moisture, much like diaper rash. Give it a try.Deos anyone know of a good cream for 'under-boob' rash.?
there's that new gel to powder cream...
or you could try diaper rash ointment...
You could always try squirty cream, it's cool and refreshing.
diaper rash cream
spray on powder
the spray on powder stuff that is used for thighs rubbing together
and dermoplast
This redness in crevices (like under the breast) comes from too much moisture. The docs I work with treat it with Nystatin powder. The main objective is to eliminate the moisture. After you shower, rinse well, dry well and apply baby powder (lightly) or use corn starch. Get it from the baking section at the grocery store. It's cool and soothing...and inexpensive.

My friend had scabies. Rash disappeared after he applied the cream which Doctor advised him. now rash has ?
Now the rash has reappeared . It does not go away even after application of the same cream. Doctor is on leave......Please help.My friend had scabies. Rash disappeared after he applied the cream which Doctor advised him. now rash has ?
The rash may not be re-infestation of scabies but could be eczema due to the cream itself. Your skin gets very sensitive and can react to the pesticide cream. Also there can still be itching after the scabies is killed for a few weeks, so you can't go by that.
Find out if the cream was applied properly (ie under the finger and toe nails too and on bottom of feet etc. Also was the bedding washed and clothes from that week in hot water and put in hot dryer for 45 minutes or more? It can help to get a mattress cover that's vinyl too.

well i would tell ';your friend'; to go back to the doctor. and you should avoid ';your friend'; until its taken care of. Scabies is contagious.
tell your friend to try going to a different doctor..

Vaseline if you have it. It's all I use. Switch to cloth diapers as well, disposables cause all kinds of skin problems. Go with out a diaper as much as possible. A thick layer of Vaseline or whatever petroleum jelly works well when you do put a diaper on.I am out of cream for my 14mo diaper rash, any home remedies out there?

Can you get a rash on your stomach and boobs from using stretch mark cream?
Of course. Who knows what's in the cream, and what you may be allergic to.Can you get a rash on your stomach and boobs from using stretch mark cream?
You possibly could if you are allergic to certain ingredients in the cream. Same results if you were to use too much. Can you get a rash on your stomach and boobs from using stretch mark cream?
You're probably having an allergic reaction to an ingredient in the cream. Stop using it and try an anti-itch cream if it's needed.
yep. allergic reactions can occur with any product.
If you didn't let it dry before putting on your bra etc. it could
It might just be an ingredient in the cream that you could be allergic to
Yeah, you are probably allergic to something in the cream.
If you are allergic to it...
Yes you could. It would have to depend on the cream. If you want you could ask a nurse or a doctor and i would recommend vitamin E oil.But it's up 2 you.
Yes if you are alergic to the cream
You can if you are alergic to it.
You can get a rash from any cream if you have an allergic reaction. Before applying any products to your body, you should put a small amount in an area that is not very sensitive like the back of your hand to see if your skin is going to react to it.
I called my sister for the answer. She said you are probably allergic to something in the cream. Does it have paba in it? That is a common allergen.
you're probably alergic to it.
Very possible that your skin is sensitive and whatever is in the cream is causing a reaction. You could try Palmer's cocoa butter soap, and pure cocoa butter cream... Good luck and God bless****
No! It might be to strong, your allergic, or you have sensitive skin

I was running and i tripped on a rock i got a road rash...what is the best cream i can use to prevent scarring?
its like somebody scratch my leg ....what cream can i use to minimize scarring?I was running and i tripped on a rock i got a road rash...what is the best cream i can use to prevent scarring?
Hydro-cortisone is put on rashes. Just so long as you don't have any skin penetrations on the rash it would not hurt. You can get it at a grocery store or a pharmacy in the area that they have your general meds. I use Cortaid myself because it is used as a cream where some other brands make it as an oily gel.I was running and i tripped on a rock i got a road rash...what is the best cream i can use to prevent scarring?
Straight vitamin E oil. If you consistently use this during the healing process - no scar!
Neosporin or bacitracin - both will keep the top of the wound soft, prevent a hard scab from forming which can then cause scarring. Keep applying the antibiotic ointment even after it is healed for a while for minimal scarring.
neosporin.
works great!
Plain old Neosporin works like a charm.myspace commentes

What's the best diaper rash creams?
My 6 month old has had a diaper rash for at least 2 weeks now and it just wont seem to go away. I've used desitin and have let her go without diapers while at home. Letting it air out hasn't even seemed to work. It's still bright pink and these little, I guess, blisters have appeared. I change her frequently and apply desitin very thick. She doesn't drink juices. My mom told me to put hydrocortizone on it. But wouldn't that hurt her? Seems like it would sting a little. She's also suggested lotrimon, but isn't that stuff for feet?
Desitin doesn't work for me. What works for you? What's the best diaper rash creams?
This sounds more like a yeast infection then a normal diaper rash to me. I would take her in and have it checked. The lotrimon might work though, it is a fungal cream. (My niece got yeast infections a lot when she was in diapers and the nurse had told us to keep it on hand so we didn't have to run to the ER in the middle of the night, we could just take her to see her doc the next day.)
As for a good diaper rash cream, my niece either used Butt Paste or Triple Paste. What's the best diaper rash creams?
Try ';A %26amp; D Ointment';.
I'm pregnant and just read this today: If your baby is also suffering from diarrhea or is on antibiotics make a 50/50 mixture of Maalox liquid and Aquaphor. The Maalox neutralizes the acidity of the diarrhea and the Aquaphor protects the skin.
Otherwise, it sounds like a yeast infection rash and can be treated with Lotrimin AF (an anti-fungal medicine). The book says you should see improvement within 24hrs and if no improvement is seen within a few days go to the doctor.
Boudreaux's Butt Paste. Works great.
My kids were the same , use old remedy, cornstarch found in baking isle, give bath in little water with some in there and let baby play, and when finished pat dry easy, and sprinkle some in salt shaker on diaper area, change often until clear which will be usually 2 days. they also sell plain cornstarch baby powder in the baby isle at store.
Sounds like its a really bad rash. My daughter got one around 6 months that lasted what seemed like months. It was really only until we took her to the doctor for her 6 months appointment and the doc was taking her rectal temp. He took one look and asked what we were using and I told him Desitin. He said STOP USING IT TODAY! She was having an allergic reaction to it that sometimes takes a while to show up. He said use A%26amp;D Ointment. We did and it cleared up LITERALLY in 3 days! A%26amp;D is a better moisture blocker then regular diaper rash cream.
the best thing for a diaper rash is Vaseline. Trust me it will be the best thing because the pee will roll right off and wont sting at all. Make sure you wash his/ her bottom as often as possible and reapply the Vaseline.
There is a brand called A %26amp;D it might work. It is for diapers rash. But may be you need to take her tthe DR. I would if it has not gone away in two weeks it may not be a diaper rash. Try change brand of diapers if you are useing despoiable try cloth my youngest son was allrige to dispoiable diaper
Corn Starch Works Wonders Thats ALL I Use.. YOu should also get the blistering checked out. Change the pamper for a while to see if it could be that, make sure you change the pamper as often as needed to keep dry to prevent diaper rashes. Also cool warm baths to sooth the area but dont leave the baby soak in for to long could possibly irriate a little more. also make sure the baby is intaking plenty of clear liquids to make sure of clean urine at all times so it will be less likely to catch a uti babies at that age can also catch them. when changing the baby try to put a little bit of powder to keep the bottom area dry it also helps in preventing diaper rash.
There is one called ';BUTT PASTE'; that i used for my daughter, it is very thick and stays on to keep the wetness out..I also used Aveeno diaper rash cream because she had sensitive skin when she was first born..good luck
My favorite is Dr. Smiths. I have used it on my last 3 children. You can see it working within the first 24 hours. You might first make sure that it isn't a yeast infection. If it is, no otc creams will work.
My son went through the same thing and I tried everything I finally found Eucerin Aquaphor it works wonders I love it it funs about 8-10 a bottle depends on what store you go to.
dr. smith's diaper ointment. i only need to apply it once it and it goes away. good luck!
Girls get this from urine to the skin. She should get changed (checked) to see if she needs a change frequently (I know this is time consuming, but also important).I also gave them baths quit often to. Use non- fragrance wipes, and diaper guard or ointment that contains Zinc -Oxide. Hypoallergenic and give her plenty of water. This worked for me without a trip to the ped. If this persist Please take her and get her checked. It could be something besides this. She could also have a reaction to the diapers that your using. I always used Luves. They are the best. Good luck and hope she will be feeling better.
1st you need to make sure it is not a yeast infection (doctor visit) little girls get those two.
2nd once cured put vasoline on bottom after every diaper change and use unsented non alchole wipies every diaper change,
3rd A%26amp;D helps, mix neosporin with painaid will help.
4th when bathing put viniger in bath water let her play in it for a while, stinky but works!
5th brown some cornstarch in the oven and use in diaper. Don't know how it works just that it does
Take the child to the doctor, there may be something in her diet that she is having an allergic reaction to. Also, try baby powder with cornstarch, that absorbs pretty well, as does vaseline. She could also be allergic to the diaper itself. Don't guess at this, but take her to your regular baby doctor.
Hydrocortizon is what my doctor subscribed once for one of my boys, that had a bad rash.also my granddaughter had a rash like your talking about and the doctor said it was a build up of yeast were she had taken antibiotic months before.Take her to the doctor if the hydrocortizon don't work.
(many blessings)
I'm still preggers, but I have heard more than one parent swear by a product called ';Boudreaux's Butt Cream';. You can get it at any Wal-Mart or Target. I have also noticed some alternatives at Babies-R-Us. I do have a 13 year old son and I remember not being overly impressed with Desitin. I would ask you Pediatrician before putting any of the other things your Mom suggested on, just to be safe. Good luck.
petroleum jelly works for my baby, it serves as coating so that the wet will not seeped in to your baby's skin, also works for butt blisters, try it, it will lessen the rash and in time the rash will go away entirely
I found some very interesting suggestions on this site
http://www.babycenter.com/viewArticle.ht鈥?/a>
some listings of diaper rash ointments and creams, this can give ya a good idea for what to look for
http://shopping.msn.com/results/shp/?bCa鈥?/a>
If she has blistery bumps in her diaper rash, it's a yeast diaper rash. Nothing big, just due to always having wetness in the diaper area, lots of babies get it, but the ped will have to prescribe something to get rid of it. I use Johnson's medicated powder at every diaper change to prevent it, learned that trick with my second baby.
Sounds like a yeast diaper rash. Make sure the area is COMPLETELY dry before you put on your cream, and use an anti-fungal, like a gyne-lotrimin or even a regular lotrimin rather than diaper cream. Don't use corn starch baby powder, as the corn starch is food for yeast.
Hope that helps!
BUTT PASTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is the best thing every created!!!
Balmex... It is the absolute BEST!!!

Balmex... It is the absolute BEST!!!

take a couple of anti allergy tablets to try and bring the rash down. bathe your legs with a cold flannel.
did you moisturise after using it? did that once and i had a rash.I just used veet hair removel cream.. RASH HELP!!!!?
You ahd an allergic reaction. I would apply topical hydrocortisone cream, it brings down inflamation. Sorry there's no immediate way to make them look better. It will take some days...
First you need to learn to use punctuation...
Second, wash the area with mild soap and try putting on cortisone cream or neosporin. If that doesn't work, call the doctor.
Yeah, I get chemical burns from Veet and Nair. You are probably fair complected, huh?

Can vitamin e cream cause rashes on the skin?
After using the cream for about 2 to 3 days, my skin started to become itchy and red.Can vitamin e cream cause rashes on the skin?
Is your skin very clean when you apply the cream? When you apply something that is very thick or greasy like vitamin e, it can trap the dirt on your skin and block the pores. Make sure your skin is spotlessly clean first before you put the cream on.
If that doesn't help then you are probably allergic to something in the cream. Vitamin e by itself should not cause a rash. Check the label carefully to see what else is in it that could be irritating your skin. Can vitamin e cream cause rashes on the skin?
Sounds like a reaction to me. Maybe the strength is too much for you. Lay off for a while and try it again. It may be something else entirely.

Cortisone cream and deodorant rash?
can cortisone cream heal a deoderant rash?
The only thing that has been gradually healing my rash is balmex diaper cream with zinc oxide in it, but I've ran out of it and I don't know if I should keep using the balmex cream or should I try something else? Cortisone cream and deodorant rash?
yes, try the cortisone. it's made for rashes.
good luck ;]Cortisone cream and deodorant rash?
If you are embarrassed about the rash and want it to go away quicker, you should use Vaseline to keep other germs and such off of it or see a doctor if you want a prescribed ointment. If you want to know if it will go away naturally, the answer is yes.
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT DEODORANT
-if it is a solid white color, you are not to worry about any incompatible ingredients.
-clear blue or green means it includes phosmicoriliaphs which commonly cause rashes.
@@just switch to another deodorant if you need to and stop using it all together until the rash disappears. In the interim, try not to wear too much cotton that is tight around your arm, if you must, wear polyester.

Help! Rash on face from pimple cream! What do I do?
I used a pimple cream with a high level of Benzoil Peroxide and now I have a red, raised rash all over my face and neck. Is there anything I can do to help it and get rid of it sooner? Any creams/lotions that I can apply? Thank you.Help! Rash on face from pimple cream! What do I do?
Aloe vera gel. If all else fails, and I know this sounds weird, use Preparation H. My hairdresser told me that she waxed a girls lip and she was allergic to something in the wax and she used Preparation H and the rash was gone the next day.Help! Rash on face from pimple cream! What do I do?

hydrocortizone cream. you may already have it in your medicine kit.
If not then just put some neosporin on it until the morning when you can go out and get some hydrocortizone cream.
Ben Gay
Get some of that nappy rash cream for babies. That should do the trick. Its its sore and stinging, use aloe vera gel.
Splash it a lot with very tap cold water. Works wonders. Then maybe some baby powder like Shower 2 Shower by Johnson and Johnson.
Always use Nair- cream hair removal Don't ever shave that area. Put the Nair on, relax on your bed until time is up. Wash with shampoo, then a hair conditioner. This is so simple and good!
Oh my. Hmm...
A and D ointment, but there's a rash, hmm.
I like the Neosporin.

theres this stuff called china jell, it smells reely minty, but i works REEEEEAAAAALLLLYYYY good.Biofreeze will work also but be careful with that one, ir anything, petroliom jelly will work if any of those do not, **get waxed nextime**
try aloe vera gel BUT (sorry, I have to say it) men should NOT shave anywhere except their faces !
My fella finds the best shaving rash solution is Avo Razor Relief for Men or the soothing balm for men. And just so you know...its not stupid and you dont deserve it! Go you for trying something new to improve yourself.
Splash on some Old Spice....
go to walgreens and look for some cream for your problem.
try gold bond or horicondizone 1!
Try Bikini Zone gel. It works really well on razor bumps. This is not a joke (but the beanbag comment made me chuckle...)
That's your problem right there. You should never shave furniture. And those bean bag beans get everywhere. What a mess!
Its for women. Its called bikini cream. it comes in a gel or a cream. It works great. Believe me I know what you mean. Not about the bean bag but the rash.
gold bond
Ohhh you got foliculitis....If you don't want to see a dermatologist buy hydrocortizone, its the only thing over the counter that will work. But if you want a quick fix, go to your doctor and ask them to prescribe you something for foliculitis, %26lt;-- with that you will probably be back to normal in about a week max.

Acne cream rash/irritation, help????
My son has been using this acne cream( acnefree-terminator 10) and it contains benzoyl peroxide. He recently developed scaly rashes on his face, chin area. There hasn't been any problems before this, he started using it about 2 weeks ago. Is there any thing he can do to get rid of his rash, how so? And, how can he get rid of his acne without using medicines, creams, etc.?Acne cream rash/irritation, help????
I just discovered your question by searching Google for ';acne cream rashes';, because the very exact thing is happening to me (and I asked my own question on the same subject this morning). I used the exact same product as your son...on my forehead, chin, and neck, and I am now suffering with a red, raised, itchy rash in those areas. This product should be taken off the shelves due to the extremely harsh nature of such a high level of benzoyl peroxide.
As far as what to do, I called the Walgreen's pharmacy this morning and was told that hydrocortisone helps, but that it can leave ';streaking'; on the face. He also advised taking Benadryl and leaving cold compresses on the area. One answerer to my question also advised using Preparation H, which I haven't tried yet. If you find any solutions that work, please post them as additional details in your question...maybe it will help me as well.
I wish your son luck, and know that he's not the only one suffering from this same problem.Acne cream rash/irritation, help????
Been there, done that. Stop using the product if he is developing rashes. Check for the negative side-effects on a drug website and contact the doctor. Now, here is the catch. IF he doesn't want to use medicine, make him go have a facial at a spa. Acne is caused by the clogging of hair follicles and pores due to sweat and bacteria. Spa facials will lift all of the flakey skin off, unclog the pores, and help his face to breathe again. That will start the healing process. Once he has that done, just use a good astringent and have another facial as needed. I know that may sound girly to him, but it does work.
what caused the rash and the irritation is the benzoyl peroxide ..i used proactive which has benzoyl peroxide in it and my face was always so itchy after i washed my face ..and now im using a product ive been using it for 4 or 5 months my face has cleared i only have a pimple here and there not as much as before and this product does not include any benzoyl peroxide so its really good for the skin
your son is going to love it!!! and this product also doesnt dry up your face
(the product is called MURADS ACNE COMPLEX)
HIS SKIN IS OVERLY DRY. Apply a moiturizer until the redness subsides. I don't know why you wouldn't consider antibiotic like Minocycline. It will save your son embarrassment and permanent scaring from acne.
Stop using the cream.
You can use a steroid cream 0.5 % for the inflammation and redness. Try a different acne medication. Perhaps he's allergic to benzoyl peroxide. Ask a pharmacists, he or she may be able to recommend something OTC. Go to the dermatologist
First get rid of the rash and redness. Have him stop using this acne treatment immediately! Have him wash his face with a mild, non-medicated soap and then apply Cortisone cream. Continue for a few days and the rash should clear up.
Check with a dermatologist if it persists.
As for his acne. Have him avoid all products containing benzoil peroxide. Look for acne treatment products that contain salicylic acid instead. There are many available in any good drugstore, look them over and read labels carefully.

Do I want to put cream on a heat rash ?
We don't have air conditioning, either in the house or the car...Do I want to put cream on a heat rash ?
I would try corn starch, maybe mixed with a little water.
-Use any powder around baby carefully because it can be inhaled into the lungs with possible health effects later in life.
Keep the area dry after a bath.
You can also use a normal house fan and a bucket of water and ice behind it, it helps quite a bit.Do I want to put cream on a heat rash ?
I would avoid creams and go with the cornstarch, it is best to keep the area dry. Theres not much you can do to stop it from happening again, other than trying to keep her cool when you can. I'd just keep her in a diaper when its really hot and try to keep a fan pointed at her. If you can maybe go visit a friend who has air conditioning next time its extremely hot out.
Keep it dry and try to get as much air on it as possible like from a fan blowing or something. If its really hot just strip baby down to a diaper and let her run around like that. My son is very hot natured and even though we have a/c i still have him run around in a diaper. It keeps him cool and if we put clothes on him its just a lightweight t-shirt or a pair of shorts. Never both if we were staying at home.

Dr gave my baby Nystaform cream for thrush/rash. Rash much worse now?
Started applying this cream 2 days ago, he said it could be thrush or nappy rash as she is really teething. the rash looks really red %26amp; sore now, much worse than wednesday and she is waking up screaming.
Dr gave my baby Nystaform cream for thrush/rash. Rash much worse now?
I think that cream is an anti-fungal and only really suitable if your baby has a fungal infection like thrush. It may well be the rash is from an allergy in which case that cream will not work so def go back to your GP to get a cream that works for other types of infections.
Dr gave my baby Nystaform cream for thrush/rash. Rash much worse now?
Definitely get your baby back into the pediatrician as soon as possible. Your baby is probably allergic to the creme.
He/She may be allergic to the cream consult your doctor that prescribed it and try going to the pedetrician

Diaper rash & best cream to use?
my son just recently started on solids and now when he poops its a little red and irritated on his bum, perfectly in the shape of his poop. i've read that the enzymes %26amp; whatnots in new food can do this and it's completely normal, but now his rash is looking shiny %26amp; super irritated. i keep boudreux's butt paste on it and overnight i use desitin but so far it's not getting any better.
any suggestions on what to try? i change his diaper more often now and always immediately after a poop.Diaper rash %26amp; best cream to use?
Poor baby booty! Try to let him air dry for awhile everyday, I let my kids sit in the bathtub so if anything happens it is easy clean up, that might help the rash. Instead of using wipes, use Cetaphil (buy at Wal-Mart/drugstores, follow directions on back) My DR told me about the Cetaphil to use on my daughter. My son never got a diaper rash until we started him solids and I changed diaper brands (from huggies to Luvs) and the rashes just went away over night! I don't know if this actually helped or not, but it is too coincidental to ignore
EDIT: I just noticed your name (army wife) I was a Navy wife (veteran now), tell your hubby thank you!Diaper rash %26amp; best cream to use?
If the solids are causing the problem, then stop that particular solid and try something else.
My niece tried cereal first, it caused a horrible rash, and goopy eyes. We stopped after 2 days, and tried with veggies the next week which fixed the problem immediately.
Correcting the source is always the better option to trying to treat the result.
New foods can cause problems sometimes but as their digestive system develops it will be easier for them to tolerate foods they didn't before, try different things slowly, and remove one if it doesn't work for now. My niece has never had a rash without a cause that we could remove, and correct without a cream.
Like the person before me said, create a barrier with vasoline. but also, try Johnson %26amp; Johnson Rash Cream (its a blue %26amp; white tube) that is what works best for my son, and he has the same problem with the red in the shape of his poo lol. other than that, butt paste like you have been doing is the best hing i have found
The best thing I have ever used on diaper rash is browned flour. Take a few teaspoons of flour, put in a frying pan and fry on a medium heat until it turns medium brown. Don't burn it though. Then let it cool, and sprinkle on the rash. Every time I have done this, the rash has been cleared up in less than 12 hours! Got the remedy from my Gramma who used it on all of her kids!
The best cream to use is Balmex..my baby girl went through the same thing and balmex really worked...you can also use desitin overnight (the one in a purple tube) during the night. Yep, keep changing his diaper often even if its urine becuase that is what causes irritaition. Hope ur baby gets better soon! Take Care
Use destin Creamy i use it on my son's diaper rash and it is wonderful i can not use anything else and i wont use anything different you can go to wal-mart, family dollar, CVS, walgreens, rite aid.
What I found to be the best was the Target brand of rash cream. It cleared up a rash on my baby's neck when nothing else was working. It also seems to clear up any diaper rash within 1-2 days.
A %26amp; D Ointment. We'll sometimes also use this as a barrier to make clean up easier on the little ones bum the next time he soils his diaper.
stop using the wipes, use damp paper towels..let him dry as long as possible, thin coat of desitin, then glob on the vaseline..its the best barrier..
The two best I've ever used are Sudocrem and Boudreaux's Butt Paste. I prefer the butt paste.

How do i get rid of dipper rash i have tried rash creams changed his food and dippers please help?
Raw Shea Butter is the best product in the world. It comes from Africa. There is White Raw Shea Butter, and there is Yellow. It is better than any desiten or baby butt butter you can buy. It heals wounds as well as diaper rash. I sell this product in my store. And if you would like more information on it please email me. It is not that expensive. And one package will last a very long time. It has multiple uses. So you can use it on your baby's bottom and you can use it on a cut or scrape. My email is pleasantlivinggifts @ yahoo . com . Here is some more info on Raw Shea Butter : Raw Shea butter has soothing, moisturizing and protecting effects. Due to the presence of a sizeable quantity of unsaponifiable fats, its content in vitamins and other active elements, Shea butter adds other more precise activities to these general properties. It displays a protecting role against UV rays because of its content in cinnamic acid and can thus be incorporated in solar products. The natural latex contained in Shea butter would moreover prevent certain sun allergies. Shea butter also helps cell regeneration and capillary circulation. This favors the healing of small wounds, skin cracks and crevices, and skin ulcers. In the cosmetic field, this property is an asset against skin aging. It has restructuring effects on the epidermis, also on dry and fragile hair. Dry skin, dermatitis, dermatoses, eczema, sun burn, and burns are all helped by natural Shea butter. It has an anti-elastics characteristic which makes it a good active ingredient against stretch marks. Shea butter can also be used to treat rheumatism and aching muscles, and to ease colds because it decongests nasal mucous tissues. It is very well tolerated by the skin for it does not normally trigger any allergic reaction and can even be used on very sensitive skin areas such as mucous tissues and around the eyes.

When my first baby had terrible diaper rash an aide in the hospital nursery lived across the street from me. She told us to use Barbasol Brushless Shave Cream on it. I thought that was crazy, until it cleared it up in just a few days. Many hospitals and nursing homes used it on bed sores and pressure sore, at least 20 some years ago. I still keep it around for irritations of different kinds. How do i get rid of dipper rash i have tried rash creams changed his food and dippers please help?
SOme babies have sensitive skin. Each time you change the baby, put his/her little bottom under warm water in the sink, just rinse it off. Get Desitin, it's thicker than some brands and stays on. In fact after putting it on and having to change another diaper, rinse off again, but don';t try to rub the Desitin off, just apply a little more over it. It will not hurt to stay on. It's a barrier, nothing will get underneath it. When baby is healed, you can use the thinner easier to spread stuff on a daily basis to prevent diaper rash. Bebina I think it's called works REALLY well. It's from Mexico and comes (or used to anyway) in a box with pink writing I believe. I got some once on a trip to Mexico, but I believe they sell it here now if you go to a store that caters to Hispanic needs.
Vaseline, Zinc... But finding the reason for the rash is good, and you cant change things by the day..... like try something for a few days or you wont really know what it is that is irratating the skin! Maybe let the baby drink some water in case there is just too much acid in the urine? there is something else called Aquafor thats works well, its similar to regular vaseline, or triple paste, you should be able to find all these at walmart! Try exposing the bottom to air as well, just put down towels or blankets you can wash in case they pee on it!
Aquaphor Healing Ointment. It's made by Eucerin and you can get it at any drug store. It worked wonders for me!!! And I don't have a baby...I actually need it myself because of some medical issues I have. But it's really great stuff. They make a regular and a baby formula.
I find that using vaseline worked best to keep from getting it re irritated.
You may need an RX to get rid of it if it won't go away. It is just like a yeast infection- can require medication.
Stop wearing diapers.
I guess finding the route of the diaper rash is the first problem. Some children just have diaper rash due to sensitive skin. My kids...I tried to change them every 2 hours so they werent sitting in wet diapers...yet they slept through the night with them...when my daughter had a diaper rash (due to teething) I filled a shallow sink with milk and bathed her in it...it actually worked!!!
The best thing you can do is use Desitin cream and/or medicated powder
Dyprotex worked great for my 3 kids. It is hard to find though. Walgreens carries it, but I haven't found it anywhere else.

How many receiving blankets to take for baby and is diaper rash cream necassary to take for diaper bag?
I am packing the baby bag for the hospital and was wondering how many receiving blankets to take? 9 maybe or is that to much? And how many onesies? Sleepers/jumpers? Socks? And since being a newborn it's a not really necessary to take powder and diaper rash cream, is it?
Man I am driving myself crazy on what to pack!
I don't remember it being so frustrating with my 1st pregnancy. I wish I had kept that list i made on what to pack for the baby.
It is much easier for myself, but I want to make sure I have everything for the baby.
How did you pack your baby's diaper bag?
Thanks for you help!
I posted this in the newborn section and did not get many answers so I am asking this again. How are you ladies packing your baby's bag? You know how many onesies and sleepers/jumpers/socks and recievieng blankets?
How many receiving blankets to take for baby and is diaper rash cream necassary to take for diaper bag?
Take about three unless it is very cold, then you can take about five to seven. Take three onesies and the outer outfit the baby is wearing home. And a pair of socks unless the outfit has built in socks. The hospital provides you with a few diapers and a hat and a t-shirt. No diaper rash cream needed yet. I even put a handful (10) of diapers in just in case.
Relax. How many receiving blankets to take for baby and is diaper rash cream necassary to take for diaper bag?
Depends where you live if its cold or not. I took one receiving blanket and two thicker ones when I had my baby in chicago in january. I also took one pair of socks, two different outfits a hat and a snow suit ( chicago, remember) . And I also took home a couple of the hospitals receiving blankets :) You can leave the cream, if he gets a rash the hospital has cream and pretty much anything he needs while you are there
I live in florida the only thing that i packed was 3 receiving blankets, 5 under wears, my baby come home alfit including a baby hat,1 pair of socks, baby mittens, my comfortable clothes to come home, 2 pjs for me , flats, tooth brush ,shampoo, soap, hair ties, and some good heavy duty after pregnancy pads.
the hospital will supply everything you need up until the day you go home. So you really just need the items for coming home. Maybe some extra socks just in case.
You don't need cream, and Powder is dangerous to use on a newborn
The hospital provides you with receiving blankets while you are there. It isn't necessary to take diaper rash cream-and the hospital will provide you with that as well if its needed during the stay.
Just take three sleepers 3 pairs of socks, and 1 outfit for the baby. They will give anything you need. Oh blankets, if it is a boy, take 4, mine peed on all four at the hospital.
my bag has bottles, formula, a blanket, a jumpsuit to take bub home in, toiletries, 2 packets of maternity pads, breast pads, a nappy to take bub home in, night clothes for me, day clothes for me, a dressing gown, my camera, a book and change for the phone incase my mobile runs out of credit.
this is what the hospital told me to pack as they want bub to wear their nappies in hospital so they can take them for tests when they are wet or soiled and they have baby nighties and blankets at the hospital.
yet when i had my older girls, all i needed was stuff for me and they sent me home with stuff for bub. hospitals just arn't what they used to be for new mums.
I would pack for 4 days just to be sure.
1 onsies for each day
2 sleepers for each day (baby usually where sleepers for the first weeks at least)
4 pairs of socks as well as 2 pairs of scratch mittens
Powder should be used to keep form getting diaper rashes.
10 diapers for each day (newborn - I recommend Pampers Swaddlers sensitives)
Wipes (sensitive)
Probably 6 receiving blankets.
Bottles and formula (depending on whether you breastfeeding or not)
2 hats
Infant car seat that is already installed
Snowsuit (if winter)
Chances are that your baby will be in hospital receiving blankets and a little t-shirt provided by the hospital until you are released. I only packed an outfit to go home in, a receiving blanket to swaddle the baby in and a heavier blanket to go over top. You might want to pack 2 outfits and blankets just incase there is an smelly accident before you get out the door. I don't see any need for diaper rash cream as the baby will not have been in diapers for that long and have a lot of changes by the hospital staff. If a rash does occur the hospital will have cream on hand. Calm down and good luck with you delivery!
Diaper rash cream is probably not realy nescessary because they probaly have some supplies at the hospital anyway and diaper rash probably won't show up in the first couples days of life anyway. Diaper rash comes from either eating something that didn't aggree with their stomach or leaving a diaper on too long. I always made sure to change my son's diapers ASAP because if not they can get a really bad rash. Just keep 'em dry as best you can. The baby's first bowl movement will be that really sticky stuff anyway and the baby might not even have another one until they go home, they might not even have a bowl movement at the hospital!

What kind of cream or body soap can I use to get rid of a rash/ itch?
I agree with the unscented soaps %26amp; cortisone creme. Also, I would add salt %26amp; baking soda to the tub water. You could also ask the advice of a pharmacist. It could vary according to type of rash or itch. If it's chiggar bites or mosquito bites, then the cortisone creme is the way to go. If it's poison oak or poison ivy, it might be different. So, you might want to ask a doctor or pharmacist. What kind of cream or body soap can I use to get rid of a rash/ itch?
Hydrocortisone cream is very effective - about $5.00 at WalMart.
Use unscented, gentle soap. Do not use any scented lotions either. Use All Free and Clear detergent on your clothes and skip the smelly dryer sheets. Anythign scented can cause a reaction. What kind of cream or body soap can I use to get rid of a rash/ itch?

Can any 1 recommend a good hair removal cream for down south that dosent rash or burn ?
for a male. Can any 1 recommend a good hair removal cream for down south that dosent rash or burn ?
what ?!!.... you have to shave your feet ?...Can any 1 recommend a good hair removal cream for down south that dosent rash or burn ?
well i dont know if they sell it down south but im pretty sure they do. It is called Epil-stop. It works really good! But be sure to buy the after-stuff because that is what doesn't cause bumps. also you have to leave it on for 3-8 minutes and it only stings for like half a second! it is awesome! i totally recommend it.
I have used veet,it's not that good but ok.
Isn't shaving a better option than that?
Down south? How old are you! Nair hair remover. Rinse with cool water after using and apply a gentle cream or lotion.
You may want to use something for sensitive skin. A great alternative is to use a trimmer. You won't get a rash or a burn like you would with creams and you won't have the anxiety of using a razor in that area.myspace commentes

I tried shaving my vagina, but then I got a red itchy rash. I used shaving cream & new razor. How can I shave?
Try soaking in a hot bath for a few minutes first. I shave with Aveeno Stress Relief Body wash. The fewer strokes you take, the less razor burn you'll get.I tried shaving my vagina, but then I got a red itchy rash. I used shaving cream %26amp; new razor. How can I shave?
I had the same thing happen and it itched really bad when it grew back. I bought a pair of ';trimmers'; . It is the electrical razor that men use for their beards. It cuts much better and it doesn't actually touch the skin. I would cut it down but not off. If you want it off you may want to look at waxing or electrolisis.I tried shaving my vagina, but then I got a red itchy rash. I used shaving cream %26amp; new razor. How can I shave?
You will get less razor burn if you shave with the grain of the hair and not against it. It won't be as close of a shave but definitely no rash.
you need some sort of moisturizer for your skin.......... apply directly after you shave
I am 32 and I have tried everything, some women can't. We cant all have vagina's like the girls in playboy, damn!!!! But seriously I have had a little luck with conditioner and a good razor, but dont go over the same area twice and use scissors or a shaver to get most of it off first that way it won't be quite so irritated.
If you're not used to shaving down there you will be very itchy. You can just apply a small amount of lotion/moisturizer to help control the itch.
do you shave downwards? that's the best method. Shave down for awhile and once you get used to that then you can try shaving upwards for a closer shave but you have to build your skin up to that point.
I hate to admit this....my source of information came from from a couple of strippers i met a few years ago. 3 of them suggested that if you are getting the red rash and bumps and itchies at the top part (triangle area) that right after shaving, spray some womens spray anti perspirant/deodorant ( i use secret) on the area, right after you are done. (be very very careful not to get any on the ';inside';) I know this sounds almost crazy, but I tried it and it works wonders! I have never had another ingrown hair, bump or itchy since doing this. They also told me that is their secret to preventing any lil bumps on the back side (bum) in summer time when you may get sweaty or on a road trip.
try it and see for yourself.
this stuff called coochy creme works well, pricey but good. also shave down then up. after shaving you can crush up an asprin in some lotion and apply it.. wierd but it works. its an anti inflammatory.
lol...
use the same method again...just remember u need 2 put lotion or co-co butter wherever u shaved...u got tha rash because the oils that were in ur skin were not repleneshed wen u wen u finished...but co-co butter or vasaline r the best...
my wife uses vitaman E. seems to work
soak in bath, use a conditioner or coochy shave cream for sensitive skin, shave with the direction of the hair only, do not go over the same part more than once. try to wear loose pants and underwear (it rubs and causes bumps), do not apply any lotion or anything afterwards, maybe the next day is fine, you can use the bikini zone cream for pain if the rash develops. Even though I do all this things, I still usually get a rash but these things help with the severity of mine. I'm extremely sensitive.
soak a wash cloth in water that is as hot as you can handle. then put it on the area you plan to shave for a couple of minuets. then always shave down (with the hair) using very hot water to rinse and soak the razor. Shave slowly.

Could diaper cream actually be causing the rash?
I've been told not to put any diaper cream on a newborn, so I didn't. But when my daughter turned a few weeks old I started putting some as a preventative measure. Now her bottom is only red in the area I put the cream. Could it be from the diaper rash cream itself? I change her frequently so she wouldn't get a rash....Could diaper cream actually be causing the rash?
The white creams (desitin) have ingrediants in them that can be drying if used often. I stop using it and switched to A%26amp;D brown ointment and her rash went away soon after. The white cream caused her skin to peel
Could be the zincCould diaper cream actually be causing the rash?
Some children can have a reaction to certain properties of the cream. So I would not rule it out. Stop using it for a week or so and see if it goes away. Then you will know for sure.
Yes, it could definitely be from the diaper cream. A%26amp;D Brown prevetns diaper rash so you should be safe with that.
It could also be from the diaper. Try switching brands, and see what happens.
baby's skin is very sensitive my son was allergic to pampers bu t i would delete the cream try a little corn starch instead it acts as a water barrier and has no perfumes in it
korkie
It is certainly possible that the cream is causing a rash. Stop using it until the rash clears up.
If you are changing the diaper often enough and cleaning her bottom every time, you should not need to use a diaper cream. If you want to use something, try vaseline --just a small amount --it will keep the urine, etc from touching her skin.
But I think that you will be fine if you don't use anything. Also, it does not hurt to allow the baby some time every day when she does not wear a diaper at all. Just put her on a surface that is waterproof and make sure she is not chilled.
Absolutely look at what is in the cream, probably perfumes and things you can't pronounce.
If you want to use something to make cleaning poop off easier just try plain vaseline. However once the merconium is done you generally don't need anything. And if you are changing frequently you don't need a cream as a water barrier.
Also don't forget that the wipes could be causing it too.
If you happen to be breastfeeding, putting breastmilk on the diaper area 2-3 times a day and letting dry a few minutes before putting the diaper on will prevent and treat most rashes. (If you do it regularly, if you don't and a rash gets established sometimes it is too much for breastmilk). If you really want to get adventurous you can make breastmilk butter and use that instead and then it doesn't have to dry. To make breastmilk butter just use milk and shake in sealed jar until the butter forms (it will take awhile) or you can use a blender (but I know some people think breastmilk is ';gross';)
Maybe, but I don't know what kind of stuff you use. Honestly, Petroleum jelly is the best to prevent a rash. (and heal) It washes off easier and doesn't irritate an existing rash and it's much cheaper.
Petroleum jelly is the best for preventing and treating diaper rash, i think that the problem with wet wash clothes is that is dries your baby's skin and wipes have moisturizers that help overdried skin. Good luck.
Yes, her skin could be sensitive, or she could be allergic. Check to see if your ointment is hypoallergenic, if not buy some.
Some children are extreamly sensitive to things like that especially early on in life. You may just have a sensitive child like mine and they can not handle things like that. We have to even buy special soap for his clothes and for him to bathe in. The dr said time will change that but for now he is super sensitive.

Which is best suitable for a baby before using a diaper, baby powder, baby cream or nappy rash cream?
she is 14 months.upto how many more months can she use a diaperWhich is best suitable for a baby before using a diaper, baby powder, baby cream or nappy rash cream?
i use to use johnson, but dr. told me to stop that as it has too much of chemical in it which is harmful for kids...Which is best suitable for a baby before using a diaper, baby powder, baby cream or nappy rash cream?
Let her run naked for a little while everyday...after bath time is good...it's good for her delicate skin. As for creams, everyone will give a different opinion, I preferred to use Johnson No More Rash as a precautionary measure on my little one (he's 4 now)...it's not greasy so it wipes off very easily. If you wanted to use powder, get cornstarch powder. It's not as ';fluffy'; and doesn't fly around as much as talc...As far as diapers go..she'll be in them for at least another year. Then you can put her in pullups if you wanted. But, you should start introducing big girl underpants around 2 and a half and get her a potty chair around then too...let her sit on it after her bath or whenever at first then around 2 and a half, try taking her out of pullups for an hour or so a day and ask her to sit on the potty on occasion during that time. I hope that answered your question...Good luck!
you can use till the baby says wants to pass the urine i think the baby would have started walking try to take the baby to the bathroom and make the baby to pass the urine and every one or one and half hour take the baby till the baby comes to know when we want to pass the urine we should come here and tell the baby also that when you want to pass urine tell me then it would be easy and you don't need any diapers for the baby
I agree with Sitara, it's all about the Desitin baby! lol
At 14 months your daughter is ready to be potty trained. (I assume she is walking.) Perhaps when your wife goes to the bathroom she can bring your daughter in with her and sit her on the pot. and when you notice her making ';poo poo faces';, (you parents know what I mean), take off her diaper and put her on the pot. You could also let her sit on the pot, diaper free, and read a book. That way she gets used to sitting on it.
Don't force it, don't reprimand and don't rush her.
Good luck!!
Johnson and Johnson
Powder should not be used, it does not protect the bottom and can cause yeast infections on genitals. There is an amazing product with a strange name Boudreaux's Butt Cream. This is my recommedation.
When my two were babies and in diapers, the first major thing is that they were in cloth diaper to begin with.
Next, whenever there was a diaper change and enough spare time, they were allowed to stay without a diaper for a few minutes in order to ';air out';.
Lastly, I always used a cornstarch baby powder, like was mentioned earlier by someone else, it doesn't fly around as much therefore it isn't as dusty as the talc based powders, plus it is more absorbent than the talc based powders.
I never used diaper rash creams of any kind because my babies never had diaper rashes with this combination. I think this is mostly due to the fact that they were wearing cloth diapers. When using cloth diapers you have to change more frequently and I think this is the main reason because with disposable diapers, you have a tendancy to leave the diaper on longer and by doing that you keep that wetness against baby's skin longer and this is what helps to cause the rashes.
If you want to use something as a barrier then just use vaseline petroleum jelly, it's cheaper than the other diaper rash products and you aren't putting a lot of chemicals again your baby's skin.
Belated congratulations on your child.
Good luck.
my oldest used to get bad rashes all the time no matter how dry I kept him! I talked to the pharmacist one day who gave me a simple recipe to use.... and I now swear by the stuff and use it all the time around here.
1 tube Desitine (or any brand containing zinc oxide)
1 tube A %26amp; D ointment
1 tube anti-hemroidal cream (note the cream and not gel)
mix all 3 together in small bowl store in airtight container.
DENSTIN...is the best diaper rash cream in the world. i hope i am spelling it right, but its a lil cream in a white bottle with sum yellow cover, comes in a tube also..
My little girl used to get a lot of rash, the doctor told me to use denstin, and it really worked wonders..!
i really strongly recomment you to try denstin!
Gud Luck, and congratulations on ur baby!
The question is a bit confusing . . Are you asking how long can she stay in a diaper? b/c at 14 months she will probably be in a diaper for at least another year . . . But the question also loks like you are asking should you use powder, or cream for rashes? I prefer cream for a reash I think powder is usually used to help prevent a rash but I don't use powder at all I hate that its so dusty and its bad for the kids to inhale.
Yes, The nappy rash cream is safe to use as a barrier at every nappy change especially if the baby has a tendency to frequent loose bowel actions such as during teething and diet changes. However , If the babies motions are normal and rarely loose I would only use it on the odd occasion the nappy rash flared up. The only reason for this is economy. If their bottom looks fine don't use it. Some children can go from no problem to red raw over night, in this case use it daily as a preventative. Your judgment is the best guide. The cream is totally safe to use as you see fit.
this section is cool...i will come here later after 6months :)
Diaper rash ointment with zinc oxide.
I have used A%26amp;D ointment (Not the zinc oxide) on my son since he was 1 month old ( I used Desitin when he was 3-4 weeks old, but he got a rash). He is now 22 months old and has not had a diaper rash since the Desitin incident. I LOVE this ointment.
My children rarely get diaper rash, I change them frequently, and wipe them with a baby cloth with water... If #2 I use cloth/baby wipe.. If I have to use cream I like desitin/or A%26amp;D ointment... If you don't have that available Milk of Magnesia works... If the diaper rash is really severe you can let the baby go w/o a diaper for a bit to air out. Your child will probably be in diapers for awhile longer....
best remedy for napy rahy is pure coconut oil whenever tie napy or pamper just apply it and be tention free from rash All creams ,powder contains chemicals so i feel natrural things work in more better way then artificial things take care I too have a16 months old baby boy and till now he has never got napy rash even during winters u can can aply or simply add in bathing water ur baby will remain with happier healthier skin

Mommies! have you ever used your baby's wipes and diaper rash cream for yourself?
I know this may sound crazy but I had bought Xanden a pack of wipes to go in his diaper bag. They are huggies cucumber melon scented. Then I reached the point where I go number 2 a lot and thought they may make me feel better and then I also got worried about the scent (i hadn't thought of it before) So i decided i would use that pack and get him new unscented ones. Well, a couple days after using them My skin down there in between my legs (i used them there for freshness) Got raw and burned and hurt really badly! I figure its gotta be from the wipes! So then i used his destinin cream stuff - which by the way STINKS! - but works - my ';rash'; is gone!
I feel silly! Anyone else have such an experience?Mommies! have you ever used your baby's wipes and diaper rash cream for yourself?
lol yes I have!! Except the wipes didn't make me raw I use them when I have diarrhea, but one time I had a heat rash on my panty line and I used her creme and it cleared up.Mommies! have you ever used your baby's wipes and diaper rash cream for yourself?
Yup.. I have used them one time I had diarrhea.. and it seems to work better than TP. I haven't used them since.. but once in a while I will. I tell my husband since they're so useful.. I'll be using them long after my son is potty trained.. ha ha.
i used the baby wipes all the time for random things, and i used his A%26amp;D ointment when i got a tattoo cuz i didnt feel like buying the crap you're supposed to use. works the same lol
4 sure! my daughter is turning 9 next month and I still have baby wipes in my bathroom. They are great to refresh urself...I like to stick some in the freezer in summer to take along when going outside...
Love using baby wipes! Have way before I had a baby. Not sure about the rash creme but if it is gentle enough for a baby, it is for you too!
you should get cottonel wipes. You can get the pop-open container %26amp; refills. Also they have mini travel packs. they work great!
LOL I will admit, once I had some chafed skin ';down there'; and I used my daughter's Desitin...sure enough, it did the trick :)
I've used wipes when I was out of TP.
I did indeed use baby wipes a few times...
The most memorable was when my sister and I were shopping I used the restroom only to realize there was no T.P. my sister looked in all the other stalls still no T.P. thinking quickly I grabbed the diaper bag used a baby wipe and went on with my day...
I used my babies Desitin (unscented) once while at the lake water skiing. I had forgotten my zinc oxide thinking quickly I remembered Desitin is mainly zinc oxide and I avoided a sunburned nose... I did have to live with the indignity of my husband calling me ';Butt Paste Nose'; for a few hours until his nose began to burn and he wanted some Desitin...

How many receiving blankets to take for baby and is diaper rash cream necassary to take for diaper bag?
Depends how long you will be in the hospital for, if it is for the average 3 day stay:
5 receiving blankets
4 onsies if baby is due in the summerish time
4 sleepers if the baby is due in the winterish time
soothers, just incase
1 or 2 hats
diapers
wipes
mmmm...I took diaper cream and vasaline, but they were just travel sizes so I throught them in the front pouch and just kept them there.
Note:my hospital never supplied diapers, wipes or anything like that, we had tp bring everything. They gave us one hat and one blanket...thats itHow many receiving blankets to take for baby and is diaper rash cream necassary to take for diaper bag?
We did not have cream with us at the hospital, but since I breastfed the pediatrician strongly recommended we use it at every diaper change when we got home since they poop more that formula fed babies. I took a couple socks, lots of hand mittens!!! and about 3-4 onsies. I hated the hospital wardrobe, it was a mess. I took maybe 3 or 4 large receiving blankets and a couple burp rags.
I did bring diapers which was a good thing because we were there three days and ran out of the hospital provided pampers that day. We only used one of ours instead of requesting more diapers.
Wow, I can't really remember what else in the diaper bag.. the usual I guess! lol
all i took for my little one was his picture outfit and his going home outfit, the hospital should provide you with everything s=else you'll need while he's there.. easier too cuz you wont need to worry about washing any of that laundry :)
the only thing i wish i had packed was wipes as the hospital had some policy against wet wipes... something about the alcohol in them so they only provided dry once that you wet yourself
I only took an outfit for pictures and their coming home outfits. The hospital provides blankets, diapers, onsies, cream, etc. You and insurance are paying for it, so you might as well use it. The hospital charges for all that stuff whether you use it or not.
You don't need anything for the baby except something to put them in to home in and the car seats, thats it!
Hospitals will provide the rest. good luck
3 white onesies
One going home sleeper
3 hats
3-4 pairs of socks
3-4 pairs of hand mittens
2 rec. blankets
One special pink blanket to go home with.
that is all I needed. They give you every thing else.

My whole face skin peels off so flaky&itchy&rash too, no cream can help. What should i do?
My skin problem happened a month ago after I ran out of medication as I moved from Thailand to England. I used to apply L.A.G. cream on my face as my Thai doctor told me to. She refused to tell me its chemical name, only said there's lots of ingredients. She told me I had dry skin problem and this medicine'll help reduce the flakes. I was surprised cuz my skin didn't look that bad at all but I believed her and used it.
I have no allergy record but my skin is peeling noticeably, worse than before I used the medicine. When i touch it, the flakes fall all over. I also feel the whole face is stretched all the time (the feeling on the face after u wash your face with strong soap). It's also itchy and red all the time. Now, I start having red spots in the same area, too.
I didn't use face wash product at all after this occured. I've tried various kinds of moisturisers e.g. water based, gel+cream based, green tea extract, or even those anti-aging with SPF 15. None helped.
Pls help!My whole face skin peels off so flaky%26amp;itchy%26amp;rash too, no cream can help. What should i do?
Try an antifungal cream - Lotrimin or clotrimazole, on a small patch. If it has a beneficial effect, you may have eczema, which can be caused by candida (yeast) fungus.
You may want to read some basic info about yeast syndromes at www.hufa.org - the yeast link, before you do anything.
If you go to a dermatologist, ask him/her to test for the yeast fungus. My whole face skin peels off so flaky%26amp;itchy%26amp;rash too, no cream can help. What should i do?
I wouldn't use anything if the person giving it to me refused to tell me what was in it in the first place. Maybe you should see a Dermatologist.
I have two suggestions for you to try:
1) Aveeno lotion - made with collodial oatmeal and it really helped me
2) 100% pure Aloe Vera Gel. You can buy this at the Drugstore or Trader Joe's if you have it.
You can order these both from www.drugstore.com or www.walgreens.com too
did you try proactive my sister has it and it works
Go see a dermatologist right away, and describe to the doctor what the thai Dr. gave to you. Sounds like it really messed your skin up. Well once you get it resolved use keri lotion works great. I have very sensitive, dry, red skin it burned 1-2 days and now my skin feels great.
Wash your face with an organic soap that has olive oil, lavender or aloe vera. Then use organic aloe vera gel at night. Leave the gel on as a mask overnight. It flakes overnight but it works to clear up the skin. Sometimes I also leave a light layer on my face as moisturizer.symphony

Is there a cream you can apply AFTER being exposed to poison ivy that will prevent the rash? Heard an ad once.
A few years back I heard an ad on Paul Harvey's radio show for this cream, but I can't remember the name, although I think it may have started with a ';Z';. I haven't been able to find it in any stores and am wondering if anyone knows if this product is still available and if it really works. Is there a cream you can apply AFTER being exposed to poison ivy that will prevent the rash? Heard an ad once.
I've used calamine lotion. you can get it so it is clear and not pink. That way you don't look all spotted. Also benedryl cream and pills they are really good for allergys. Is there a cream you can apply AFTER being exposed to poison ivy that will prevent the rash? Heard an ad once.
I don't know which one Paul Harvey was referring to, but my experience is this:
One with a corticosteroid in it...
My son exposed himself to p.i. last week, and within 24 hours was swollen so bad that his little eyes were almost shut, puffy and itchy....bless his heart, he was just trying to chop it down! (He has Down's Syndrome) I took him to the doctor, he was given a shot, and a script for steroids (for a period of 5 days) and then the doc told me to get any cream over the counter with a corticosteroid in it.
I hope this is helpful to you. Oh, and when you bathe, don't use soap for the first few days on the affected areas, as most soaps have a base in them that only helps to spread the itch. When one is first exposed to poison ivy the very best remedy is to wash all areas with plain water, as it neutralizes the poison. Then throw the clothes straight into the washer, (I do use laundry soap at that point) and then get into the shower, rinse off all over. Throw every towel you use into the washer straight away! I may be a freak about p.i., but only for a very good reason! lol
After exsposure, you can apply Benedryl cream and take Benedryl tablets to ease the pain and itching. There is a cream on the market that is sold over the counter. If you have contacted the plant or inhaled the fumes of burning the stuff you can apply the above cream or hydrocortizone. It is a anti-itch cream. Good Luck!
I've never heard of that. But i have had luck with dawn dishwashing liquid rinsed with cold water(keeps the pores closed, so that the oils don't get into them.) I am highly resistant to poison ivy, so this may not work for everyone.

How do you have a butt crack butt rash whats the best cream?
It depends on if the rash is just the chapped skin in the crack or if it goes on to other places. If your buttcrack area is chapped or chafed, you can use boudreaux's butt paste. It will help heal that chafed area and seal out the wetness to protect it. here is the products web address. You can read the testimonials about the product too. one of them is about a kid with a buttsore butt especially on the sides of his butt crack. http://www.buttpaste.com/custom/webpage.cfm?content=content%26amp;id=4
What kind of wipes and diaper rash cream you use on your baby.?
I am pregnant with my third and final child. It been four years since I had a newborn around. I already have two boys. I been using sensitive pampers baby wipes on my four year old son because his skin is sensitive and still trying on the potty training. I see that Huggies have sensitive skin wipes has well. But haven't used those yet. I know that I had to use medicated diaper rash cream which the doctor use since other diaper rash cream doesn't work to well with my boys. I just was wondering what kind of diaper rash cream you use and baby wipes has well. This is my first girl I am having. I have two nieces but they 10 year old now. It been so long since I changed a girl diaper. What would be the correct way to wipe her when I change her diaper. Do they get a lot of diaper rash. Thanks.
I be expecting this baby have sensitive skin has well. Both my boys have it. My 6 year old out grew it by age two. My youngest skin is sensitive because he has asthma and allergy;s.What kind of wipes and diaper rash cream you use on your baby.?
I have a 4 month old girl. i use Pampers Sensitive wipes, and if I can't get my hands on those, I buy any wipes as long as they are unscented. I use Desitin Cream for rashes. She doesn't get many rashes now but when she was a month or two old, she'd get them alot (I guess because she's our first child and we're pros at diaper changing now, not so much then). Always wipe front to back to avoid getting poop or rubbing the pee back into her vagina causing infections. Hey, atleast a girl won't pee in your face or hair or clothes! What kind of wipes and diaper rash cream you use on your baby.?
I use the Target brand wipes and Lansinoh and Desitin creams.
If my baby has a bad rash, I will use my cleansing bottle from the hospital to rinse her bottom (rather than wiping causing more pain/irritation), pat dry and let her air out, then apply cream to the area.
Congratulations and all the best to you and your family-
Well,
For wipes I have always used Huggies, but not the sensitive. And for diaper rash cream. My daughter has always had senstive skin. So before we left the hospital when she was born, the nurses told me to mix Aquafour, and A%26amp;D cream together. And it works so well.
As for wiping a girl, you should be whiping down towards her butt. Not up, because the fieces with get stuck in her private and cause an infection.
Congrats on the baby girl coming. Good luck!
my emerald uses huggies wipes. i also love balmex. it clears her rash when she has one in one diaper change. it is important to wipe front to back in little girls to prevent the germs from the rectal area entering the vagina and causing infection. my daughter doesn't get a lot of diaper rash, but my niece gets it all the time. it just depends on the child. good luck with ur little girl.....
Well my daughter is allergic to anything Pampers so I use sensitive wipes from Huggies and their diapers. I also use A%26amp;D cream. It's really good at preventing diaper rash.
i use pamper sensitive wipes and i use vasaline like diaper cream i hate destin cream it get's so hard to wipe off. but my daughter only had a rash once when my mother used scented wipes on her by mistake
The brands i use on my son are the following -
Wipes - Huggies Pure
Nappy cream - Sudocrem
Nappies - Pampers
Huggies wipes, they feel like cloth. The store brands smell funny.
Budreaux's (sp?) or Balmex and corn starch.
Desitin works just fine for me and i use parents choice wipes.
pampers sensitive

I use Pampers Sensitive as well as my toddler has a sensitive bottom. I just use it on my newborn too and it seems to do the job.
As far as diaper rash cream, we had a hard time finding something that worked for my little guy but once we found and started using Triple Paste, man that stuff is a dream! It would get rid of his rash in a day or two. The other creams, butt paste, desitin, aveeno, we tried them all and none of them would get rid of it, not even the perscription stuff.

Ok moms...Which brand of diaper rash cream works best?
I've tried Triple Paste everytime my daughter has the slightest bit of the rash. But she's had diarrhea for the 14 days, which has caused a horrible diaper rash this time. Her doctor prescribed an ointment that we should only use for 3 days. We did that, it didnt go away. Took her back to the doctor today, and she said since it's not fungal rash, I could just use A %26amp; D ointment. But I've heard Desitin is better. So I go to the store today and read the labels of Desitin, A%26amp;D, Johnson's, and some other generic brand...couldnt tell the difference in any. Except Desitin claimed to be #1 Recommended by Pedatricians.
So which one works better? My daughter's little tushy is so red %26amp; sore, I cant bare to waste time using a cream that won't help heal it and possibly make it worse, like Triple Paste seemed to do.Ok moms...Which brand of diaper rash cream works best?
For those stubborn rashes when zinc just won't work I use Canestan, which is also just your basic anti-fungal cream. I use it 2-3 times a day along with regular cream and the rash is gone within 3 days.

This website explains the different types of rashes.
Hope that helps!Ok moms...Which brand of diaper rash cream works best?
I use A%26amp;D. Here’s my process:
First, I never use wipes. Even the “sensitive” ones give my baby diaper rash every time. Instead, I keep a thermos of warm water and cotton pads next to the changing table. When the area is clean, you need to let it air dry. If there is any kind of moisture on the skin, the ointment will just trap in the wetness and make the rash worse. You can use a little fan or a hairdryer (Only if it has a cold setting though, no hot air!). It’s also good to let the baby’s diaper area air out once a day. You might have an easier time with this because you have a girl. Just put her on a waterproof pad to catch any accidents. When the skin is dry, my doctor told me to use a large amount of the A%26amp;D zinc ointment. Don’t buy the little tube, get the really big tube and use a lot of it. I'm not really sure that the brand matters, probably any zinc oxide ointment is good. You want to do the whole process with every diaper change (and change them often). Hope this helps!
Sudo Cream
(not sure if they sell it in the states)
It sounds crazy but Bag Balm. It was originally made for cows utters that had cracked and become to sore to milk but someone somewhere started using it as a diaper rash ointment and it works wonders! I have had 4 kids, my mother used it on her youngest kids and most of my friends swear by it for their kids. I have use the Butt Paste and it works ok but the Bag Balm works fantastic. My sister had the most sensitive skin and had such a horrible rash as an infant, that her bottom was bleeding, my Mom bought everything and even tried prescription cream but nothing made it go away except Bag Balm. You can get it at Walmart in the pet dept. I know it sounds crazy but it is well worth the try and you get more for your money the can lasts forever. If you are looking for it, it is in a green, square metal can. Good luck!
Go to the grocery store or Rite Aide and get some Caldesene powder. It comes in a pink plastic bottle.
My nurse practitioner told me about this stuff when my daughter was having a similar problem and she said that it would take the sting out. It did, it does. Desitin and many other diaper creams/ointments sting an already raw bottom and I thank Kathy every day for that piece of advice.
I used it for my daughter who is now 16 and my son who is 3. He has had a few diapers that caused an instant raw bottom and all I do is shake the powder on and the redness goes away.
If she has open raw patches use Vaseline to just sooth for an hour or two then a bath and powder.
I promise it will help and it is only about $5 a bottle.
Good luck!
budroux butt paste. ( I don't know how to spell it.)
It has the highest zinc in it and destin night time.
Warm water then dried with a blowdryer on the low heat low blow setting. That way it gets dry and you don't have to rub it. Then use any kind. Anything will work on a clean bum. If you put diaper cream on top of stomach acid you just lock in the acid next to the skin. You need to wash off all the poop (wipes don't help and they hurt rash) then pretty much any of them work. I use the equate brand of desitin. We like it fine but I also have a store brand of A+D and it works when it's not real red yet.
Some of my other friends and a SIL who was a nanny swear by butt paste but other kinds have worked for me so I'm not going to spend more.
You can also try Malox. NOT THE MINTY KIND JUST REGULAR MALOX. Use a cotton ball to dab it on. It will neutralize any acid on her bum.
i personally like the desitin overnight formula
i see alot of people saying that butt paste is the best well i beg to differ with them all it did nothing for either one of my kids or my nieces..all babies are different you know, you can try it..it could work for her who knows,i always used desitin, petroleum jelly,or nystatin, you know you mentioned that you read the information on the backs of all the diaper rash creams and you couldn't really find a difference well your right there's not a difference really other than the makers name that's all your paying for really,i really like the petroleum jelly, give baby bath make sure to air dry put this petroleum jelly all over the rash dust with powder and put on diaper and put to bed change right away in the morning and let her get some air then you do the same all over again...and you know another thing you might not want to hear it but you might have to start potty training her it might be that time she could be getting the rash from being in the diapers, you can also try pull-ups during the day and diaper at night...but if she is 15 months then you might go a head and start trying with the potty,i know you might not want to but some times we just have to move on Hun..and move to the next stage...good luck i hope she feels better real soon...
Air, and Desitin.
If she's immobile still, lay her on the floor on top of a clean diaper that's open and put a bunch of receiving blankets or old towels underneath her. Let her hand around with a bare bottom for an hour or two. That always seemed to help when our daughter had bad diaper rash. And Desitin is the ONLY thing that has ever worked for her. We have tried others in the past (Balmex, Butt Paste, Huggies Diaper cream) but none worked as well. We use the overnight one. Works like a charm!
Keep her out of the bathtub. It may be drying out her skin and irritating it more. Also, when you change her, you don't have to wipe all the cream off and apply more. Just wipe enough to clean her, and reapply the cream if needed.
B UTT PASTE IS GREAT...BUT IT SMELLS WEIRD...ALSO FOR A MORE NATURAL APPROCH TRY OLIVE OIL...IT DOESNT HAVE ANY BAD CHEMICALS...
It may be a yeaste infection, there is a prescrption you can ask your doctor for that is called Vusion. it is specially made for extreme diaper rash due to a yeaste infection. It doesn't hurt to ask your doctor about it. It may even solve your problem.!!!
My son hasn't had this problem but I do use Balmex on him at everyyy diaper change, even if he doesn't have a rash.
Hope this helps..
I used a%26amp;d and take that diaper off for atleast a couple of hours try underware thats what I done with my son just put him some underware on and he may have peed everywhere but the rash was gone 2 days after that!
My daughter is only 7wks old but prone to diaper rashes from day 1... and we live in Alaska so its extremely cold and dry which makes it 10x worse. We used Desitin (sp?) for the first 6wks and the rash never really made an improvement, it didnt get worse it just didnt get better. Our sitter actually recommended A%26amp;D ointment she said its so much better than Desitin and Butt Paste so I figured what the hey I'll give it a shot. In just one night I put it on her before she went to bed, when I changed her diaper the next morning the rash looked SO much better! So now I swear by the A%26amp;D, its greaser than desitin but it works so much better for our daughter! I suggest you just buy one of each and give them all a shot. That way you can find out what is best for you. Good luck!
Budreaux's Butt Paste is the best stuff that I have used.
Paladin
A%26amp;D ointment... My best friend and I swear by it. The good news about A%26amp;D ointment is that it is very inexpensive. Good luck.
BUTT PASTE!!! best thing ever made
Try putting a thick layer of Crisco on her bottom. It acts like a barrier so that the acids in her stools don't burn her bottom. I know it sounds weird, but it's an old Jewish remedy given to my mom by her pediatrician, and it has worked for my children (I have 4). Give it a try, it couldn't hurt.
hi, im from oz so i dont think you will have the same creams as we do but i can suggest the best most natural way. A long bath then air that little bottom as long as you can, try leaving the nappy off as much as you can whilst at home.. Good luck i hope she gets better the poor little angel :)
I also use Butt Paste. It's great. You can buy it at almost any store.
The problem with the ointments is its keeping the area moist. Especially if your using it for a few weeks now. I would leave her without a diaper to let it air dry, I know thats a tough one! I would also use corn starch. It works great, costs less (as you may already have it in the kitchen), no harmful ingredients, and it does the best job at drying a moist area.
well im not a mom but i have a little brother and my aunts a doctor she prefers destin it works!!
If I were you, I would try an organic diaper rash cream. Maybe she's allergic to some chemical in the generic brands.
Also, I would try aloe vera leaves. Just cut them open and squeeze the liquid on the skin. If no leaves available, some organic aloe vera gel.
leave the cream... use [powder]corn starch
!!!!!(maizena) Works !
I like butt paste, too.
If you get Aveeno try that because its natural oatmeal and such in it which should help or even ask the doctor about giving her and oatmeal bath that may also help at least with the irritation
I swear by butt paste, it's the best!
Butt Paste
im not a mom, but a teen and i work at a child care center in the infant room and i swear.. BUTT PASTE works the best!

Is it safe to use diaper rash cream on baby?
I used the Desitin diaper rash cream on my son because I noticed a little bit of a rash occurring. The rest of the night that I changed his diaper I left the cream on there (however, I wiped lightly over it with a baby wipe) when I changed him...The next morning I noticed that the area was really red and peeling. OUCH! I felt to horrible...is this just a bad reaction to the cream or is it because I should have wiped it off and put new cream on every changing??? Or is this something that is common when using this cream? Is it safe to use diaper rash cream on baby?
I think you should wipe it off and put new stuff on everytime.
What really works the best though, is to just give him a bath and than let him hang out without a diaper on so it can air out.
If he isn't crawling yet, it works well to lay a big garbage bag on the floor with a blanket over the top of it. Make sure to lay him on his belly to avoid the sprinkler affect. ;)
It really does do wonders.. Good luck!Is it safe to use diaper rash cream on baby?
Uh, you should wipe off the old stuff with every change and apply new stuff, it will work REALLY well if you do that. Also, for when your baby is sleeping through the night, apply the Desitin that is in the purple tube, it is thicker than the one in the blue tube, better for overnight protection, but I always used the blue only during the day unless she had a bad rash in which case I would use the purple one. But yeah, just wipe off the old cream EVERYTIME and apply new cream.
If it got that bad that fast he's probably allergic to the desitin, I always used Dr. Smiths on my boys and it was great. And I don't know if it's a good idea to try it now if he possibly is having an allergic reaction to the cream but in the case of just a regular diaper rash plain old vaseline works great.
i always just put on new cream each time but then again my daughter only ever had diaper rash maybe 5 times in two years.. seemingly always when my MIL watched her but thats a whole other story. Anywho, when she had the rash I would always wipe clean each time and apply more.. I noticed it would take about 36 hours to go away usually. Try putting some of the cream on your child's back or somewhere where you can monitor it for a reaction.
I heard the zinc in diaper rash cream isnt great, I dont use desitin because of that. Thats just me though some call me an over protective-paranoid mommy but I cant be anything else!
I use A%26amp;D without zinc, and only if he has a rash. i'll use it after ALMOST every change then the next day his rash is gone.
You could try A%26amp; D but if hes his rash gets worse then i would just get a quick visit to his doctor. Make sure when you put his diaper back on his skin is dry. Air dry or i seen my mom use a hair dryer on the ';Cool'; mode when my baby brother had a bad rash. It all works!
None of the creams ever worked on my children. The best thing I ever found was cornstarch powder. If you have a rash that just will not go away it may be a yeast infection which is fairly common. If you have a rash that seems to be getting worse no matter what you do you might get some yeast infection cream and try that. Get the kind for the seven day treatments as it is less harsh.
I always wipe it off and reapply. Really, if you're not wiping it off then you're not getting his bottom completely clean.
It could be an allergic reaction. Have you ever used it before? Did it produce the same results then? Whatever the case may be you probably want to hold off on using it. Just keep the area clean and dry to see if that helps clear it up.
You should have wiped off the old and applied new each time. BUT I don't think that would have caused a worse rash...maybe just not stopped what was already occurring...or it may be an allergic reaction.
Peeling? Ouch! That may need a call to the pediatrician.
You could possibly try a different diaper rash cream. We used Butt Paste in the beginning because she had such sensitive skin in the beginning.
i use it pretty much every time and my daughter hasn't had diaper rash once yet. i have heard people leaving the cream on ONLY when diaper rash is extremely bad and kinda only lightly patting the area in between changings, but otherwise, i would just clean it well each time.
I use cream at every changing. Just habit I guess. You need to wipe it ALL off. It still has traces of urine and fecal matter in the cream that needs to be removed. You can use A%26amp;D Ointment to clear up the peeling and redness, then go back to using the diaper rash cream.
poor little guy.
you should definatly change the cream each time you change the diaper ..
hmm .. read the desitin tubes directions though ..
maybe it's not such a good idea to put it on again till it gets a little better, let him go bare for awhile if you have to
use corn starch it works much better.
I think you should wipe it off and put new stuff on everytime.
