Acne cream rash/irritation, help????

My son has been using this acne cream( acnefree-terminator 10) and it contains benzoyl peroxide. He recently developed scaly rashes on his face, chin area. There hasn't been any problems before this, he started using it about 2 weeks ago. Is there any thing he can do to get rid of his rash, how so? And, how can he get rid of his acne without using medicines, creams, etc.?Acne cream rash/irritation, help????
I just discovered your question by searching Google for ';acne cream rashes';, because the very exact thing is happening to me (and I asked my own question on the same subject this morning). I used the exact same product as your son...on my forehead, chin, and neck, and I am now suffering with a red, raised, itchy rash in those areas. This product should be taken off the shelves due to the extremely harsh nature of such a high level of benzoyl peroxide.

As far as what to do, I called the Walgreen's pharmacy this morning and was told that hydrocortisone helps, but that it can leave ';streaking'; on the face. He also advised taking Benadryl and leaving cold compresses on the area. One answerer to my question also advised using Preparation H, which I haven't tried yet. If you find any solutions that work, please post them as additional details in your question...maybe it will help me as well.

I wish your son luck, and know that he's not the only one suffering from this same problem.Acne cream rash/irritation, help????
Been there, done that. Stop using the product if he is developing rashes. Check for the negative side-effects on a drug website and contact the doctor. Now, here is the catch. IF he doesn't want to use medicine, make him go have a facial at a spa. Acne is caused by the clogging of hair follicles and pores due to sweat and bacteria. Spa facials will lift all of the flakey skin off, unclog the pores, and help his face to breathe again. That will start the healing process. Once he has that done, just use a good astringent and have another facial as needed. I know that may sound girly to him, but it does work.
what caused the rash and the irritation is the benzoyl peroxide ..i used proactive which has benzoyl peroxide in it and my face was always so itchy after i washed my face ..and now im using a product ive been using it for 4 or 5 months my face has cleared i only have a pimple here and there not as much as before and this product does not include any benzoyl peroxide so its really good for the skin

your son is going to love it!!! and this product also doesnt dry up your face

(the product is called MURADS ACNE COMPLEX)
HIS SKIN IS OVERLY DRY. Apply a moiturizer until the redness subsides. I don't know why you wouldn't consider antibiotic like Minocycline. It will save your son embarrassment and permanent scaring from acne.
Stop using the cream.

You can use a steroid cream 0.5 % for the inflammation and redness. Try a different acne medication. Perhaps he's allergic to benzoyl peroxide. Ask a pharmacists, he or she may be able to recommend something OTC. Go to the dermatologist
First get rid of the rash and redness. Have him stop using this acne treatment immediately! Have him wash his face with a mild, non-medicated soap and then apply Cortisone cream. Continue for a few days and the rash should clear up.

Check with a dermatologist if it persists.

As for his acne. Have him avoid all products containing benzoil peroxide. Look for acne treatment products that contain salicylic acid instead. There are many available in any good drugstore, look them over and read labels carefully.
