Please help. Cloth diapers %26amp; diaper rash cream?
this is just a little off subject. but i switched to cloth diapers and my son had a very bad rash. i then took him to the doctor and it turned out to be a fungal rash which isn't treatable with normal creams. I need to get a prescription for an anti-fungal cream. if the rash doesn't seem to be going away, i suggest you see a doctor. Cloth diapers %26amp; diaper rash cream?
You aren't supposed to use regular diaper rash creams with cloth diapers. It has to be a special kind. I'm sorry to say, I think you won't be able to get it out.

I'm pregnant and I researched cloth diapers for like four hours yesterday. I remember reading about a certain chemical in the regular creams that do not do well on cloth diapers and that the warranty is voided if you use it... for bumgeniuses anyway.
You will need to strip them. Actually, with cloth diapers, dont even use the rash cream. Just make sure you change frequently and keep him as clean and dry as you can. But the cloth breathes and is so comfortable that the rash will clear up on its own. I found this out with my son.

BUT for the ones with rash cream on already... you will need to strip the diapers. Rash cream can ruin a good cloth diaper but stripping can take out of it.
Strip your diapers. You can Google it and find a million ways to do it, but this is how I do mine: Wash them in super hot water with Dawn dishsoap. Then wash or rinse them in hot water over and over until there are no more suds in the water. It may take several wash cycles, but it should get them clean.

Another method is to put them in the top rack of your dishwasher - but be careful! If you have JetDry in your dishwasher, it will ruin your diapers.
Strip the diapers with blue dawn detergent. Squirt a little in with the clean diapers. Rinse with hot water until the bubbles are gone (it may take several rinses).
