Is Diaper Rash cream ok for newborns?

My daughter is 1 week old today and has some diaper rash from some runny bowel movements...when is it ok to begin diaper rash creams like Boudreaux's Butt Paste? Is Diaper Rash cream ok for newborns?
Yes, it's perfectly safe to use it from birth. If you find that the rash is not going away, best to see your babies doctor or health nurse b4 it becomes worse. Try and keep your baby without a nappy as much as possible to air her little bottom and this will help with the healing process. Congratulations n all the best in motherhood;-) Nice to meet someone else with the same first name..Cheers Is Diaper Rash cream ok for newborns?
yes it's perfectly safe.

with diaper creams people are often worried about applying too much, i like to slather it on thick, that way if the nappy rubs it off a bit, there is still plenty to protect baby. Also, the thicker it's applied, the more comfortable the baby as it acts as a barrier from urine burn should she urinate later in her nappy.

urine really stings nappy rash
Its fine to go ahead and do it now, but if your daughter still has runny poop I would do what my sons doctor suggested, while the poop is runny (which is normal for newborns) put vaseline on their butt first, then put some diaper rash cream on, the vaseline works as a barrier and wont allow the poop to come in contact with the skin... when the poop starts to harden a little more then you can stop using the vaseline and start just using diaper rash cream, and be patient, some diaper rashes take quite a while to heal, I know my sons did when he had one from diarrhea!
yeh i dont know what country you are in but i have used curash since my bubs was born he is 2 and a half months and hasnt had a rsh of any sort yet; it dries powder like... all of their stuff is really good. my son gets eczma and hasnt had a problem with the curash products... good luck
It is okay now to apply the cream, any rash may irritate her and the cream will make her feel better and usually the rash will go away.
It's completely fine to use with every diaper change. You might also want to clean her with a warm soft washcloth instead of using baby wipes (they can irritate and sting a diaper rash). Good Luck!
yea its ok for the i use desitin which is really good...and sometimes vaseline from what my daughters peditrician told me.
Dr smiths is good and yes it is perfectly fine to use it!!!
My doctor said it was fine. My baby had a slight rash at 2 weeks. Call your doct just to make sure
its good and what is needed
I would hold off on creams because she is so young. Johnson and Johnsons makes a medicated powder that should work fine. If the rash starts to get white and pasty then it could be a yeast infection (completely normal) but ultimatly.....talk to your doctor. If you do use a diaper rash cream then try Desitin for night time. One application will do her good.
